M'Memoirs
A picture of an Australian way of life that is now vanishing.
Description
This book tells of a childhood in an extended family in England, boyhood and young manhood in Depression Sydney, schooling, social life and friendships, wartime service as ground crew in the RAAF, marriage and post-war life ‘learning to be a farmer’ near Junee, New South Wales. It is a self-deprecatory account of a man who took pride in his work whether he was delivering ice, making buttons, servicing aircraft, growing crops or breeding harness-racing horses, and for whom family and friends wee the centre of his existence. As well a creating a picture of an Australian way of life that is now vanishing, it is a timely reminder of the core values of a Good Society.
