This book is the story of Mavis Gaff-Smith’s mission to put Mother Teresa’s ideal into practice.
Globally in 2000, there were 529,000 maternal deaths and 4 million stillborn babies. Worldwide one woman dies every minute from preventable complications of pregnancy and childbirth. A child dies every three seconds as a result of extreme poverty. One in five children in the developing countries does not have access to safe water.
Mother Teresa said, ‘This book is the story of the author’s travels as a volunteer worker amongst women in Mexico, Jamaica, Nepal, Thailand, Zambia, Kolkata and the Pacific Islands.
